Generate strong passwords.
Instantly & privately.
An advanced password generator that creates cryptographically secure passwords, memorable passphrases and PINs — with a live strength meter, entropy score and crack-time estimate. Nothing ever leaves your browser.
Create a strong password in 3 steps.
Choose Your Mode
Pick Password for maximum randomness, Passphrase for something memorable, or PIN for devices and locks. Then set the length or word count you need.
Fine-Tune the Options
Toggle uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. Exclude look-alike characters like i, l, 1, O and 0, or add your own custom exclusions for sites with strict rules.
Copy & Store It Safely
Check the strength meter and crack-time estimate, then hit Copy. Save it in a password manager — never in a note, spreadsheet or chat message.
Advanced tools for serious security.
Cryptographically Secure
Every character comes from the Web Crypto API's crypto.getRandomValues() — the same source of randomness browsers use for TLS. No predictable Math.random() anywhere.
Up to 128 Characters
Stretch passwords from 4 to 128 characters. Length is the single biggest factor in password strength, and our slider makes it effortless to go long.
Passphrase Mode
Build memorable passphrases from random dictionary words. A 5-word phrase can out-rank a short random string while being far easier to type and recall.
Live Strength Meter
A five-segment meter rates your password in real time as you change length and character sets, so you always know exactly where you stand.
Entropy & Crack Time
See the mathematical entropy of your password in bits, plus an estimated crack time assuming a fast offline attacker making 10 billion guesses per second.
Smart Exclusions
Strip out similar characters (i, l, 1, L, o, 0, O) and ambiguous brackets, or type your own exclusion list for sites with awkward password rules.
Bulk Generation
Generate up to 20 unique passwords at once — perfect for setting up a new device, onboarding a team, or refreshing a batch of compromised credentials.
100% Offline & Private
Everything runs in your browser. No server round-trips, no logging, no analytics on generated values. Disconnect from the internet and it still works.
Mobile Optimised
Designed for thumbs as well as keyboards. Large tap targets, a responsive layout and one-tap copy make it easy to generate passwords on any device.
The Free Strong Password Generator
A password generator creates random, unpredictable strings that humans could never invent on their own. Our strong password generator uses your browser's built-in cryptographic random number generator, so every password is statistically independent and impossible to predict — even by us.
Most weak passwords fail for the same three reasons: they are too short, too predictable, or reused. A random password generator fixes all three at once. A 16-character password drawn from 94 possible characters has roughly 105 bits of entropy, which puts it far beyond the reach of brute-force attacks. Push it to 20 characters and you cross 130 bits.
Not every account needs a wall of symbols, though. For master passwords and Wi-Fi keys, a passphrase generator often works better: five random dictionary words are easier to remember and type than twelve random glyphs, while still delivering around 55 bits of entropy on their own. Our passphrase mode lets you add capitalisation and numbers for extra strength.
Every password you create here stays on your device. There is no server, no database and no log — the generator is pure client-side JavaScript. Use it as often as you like, for as many accounts as you have. Just remember the golden rule: one unique password per account, stored in a reputable password manager.
Frequently Asked Questions.
Yes. Our password generator runs entirely inside your browser using the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues). Nothing is ever sent to a server, nothing is logged, and no password is stored anywhere. You can even disconnect from the internet and the generator will keep working.
For most accounts, 16 characters is an excellent choice. Use 12 characters minimum for everyday logins, 20+ characters for email, banking and password-manager master passwords, and 32+ characters for high-value or long-term secrets. Length matters far more than complexity.
A strong password is long, random and unique. Length increases the number of possible guesses exponentially, randomness prevents dictionary and pattern attacks, and uniqueness stops one breach from compromising your other accounts. A 16-character random password has roughly 100 bits of entropy, which is far beyond brute-force reach.
A passphrase is a sequence of random words, such as harbor-mango-tunnel-brisk-42. Because each word adds roughly 8–11 bits of entropy, a 5-word passphrase can be stronger than a short random string while being far easier to remember and type. They are ideal for master passwords and Wi-Fi keys.
The crack-time estimate shows how long an offline attacker with very fast hardware (around 10 billion guesses per second) would need to exhaust the keyspace. It is a rough guide, not a guarantee — real attacks also use dictionaries and leaked password lists. If your estimate reads "Instantly" or a few seconds, choose a longer password.
Never. Reusing a password means one breached website exposes every other account using the same credentials. Generate a unique password for every single account and store them in a reputable password manager so you only need to remember one master passphrase.
No. Passwords exist only in your browser's memory for as long as the tab stays open. Nothing is written to our servers, cookies, local storage or analytics. Closing the page erases everything instantly.
