Build a QR code in 3 steps.

01

Pick Your Content Type

Choose URL, Text, Wi-Fi, vCard, Email, Phone, SMS or Location. Each type fills in the correct format automatically — including the WIFI:, mailto: and BEGIN:VCARD protocols phones expect.

02

Style & Brand It

Set the size, foreground and background colours, quiet zone and error correction. Add your own logo in the centre and use error correction level H so the code stays scannable.

03

Scan, Test & Download

Test the live preview with your phone camera, then download a crisp PNG for printing or a scalable SVG for design tools. Your QR code never expires.

Everything you need in a QR code maker.

🔗

8 Content Types

URL, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, vCard contact, email, phone call, SMS with a pre-filled message, and geographic coordinates — each encoded in the exact format phones understand.

📶

Wi-Fi QR Codes

Let guests join your network with one scan. Supports WPA/WPA2/WPA3, WEP and open networks, plus hidden SSIDs. The password never leaves your browser.

👤

vCard Contact Cards

Encode a full contact record — name, company, title, phone, email, website and note — so a single scan saves you straight into the phone's address book.

🎨

Custom Colors & Logo

Pick any foreground and background colour, use the quick swatches, and drop your logo in the centre. High error correction keeps everything scannable.

📐

Size & Quiet Zone

Export anywhere from 128px to 1000px and control the quiet zone margin from 0 to 10 modules — essential for reliable scanning on printed material.

🛡️

4 Error Correction Levels

Choose L, M, Q or H to trade data density for resilience. Higher levels survive smudges, folds, low-quality printers and logo overlays.

⬇

PNG & SVG Export

Download a pixel-perfect PNG for screens and print, or a vector SVG that scales infinitely for banners, business cards and packaging.

📊

Live Capacity Meter

See exactly how many characters you have encoded and get an instant warning if your content exceeds what the chosen error correction level can hold.

🔒

100% Private & Offline

Everything runs in your browser. No server round-trips, no image uploads, no analytics on your content. Disconnect from the internet and it still works.

The Free Custom QR Code Generator

A QR code generator turns a link, a message or a set of contact details into a square barcode that any modern smartphone can read in under a second. Our free QR code maker creates static QR codes — the data is encoded directly into the pattern, so your code never expires and never depends on our servers.

Every QR code here is drawn locally in your browser on an HTML canvas using an embedded encoder. That means your Wi-Fi passwords, contact details and private URLs are never transmitted anywhere. You can even open this page, turn off your internet connection and keep generating.

Use the eight content modes to build exactly what you need: a URL QR code for a landing page, a Wi-Fi QR code for guests, a vCard QR code for networking, or an SMS QR code for a quick opt-in. Then style it with your brand colours and a centre logo — just remember to use error correction level H when you add a logo so the code still scans reliably.

For best print results, keep strong contrast between the foreground and background, leave the quiet zone at four modules or more, and print at least 2 × 2 cm for close-range scanning. Always test with two or three different phones before sending anything to the printer.

Frequently Asked Questions.

A QR (Quick Response) code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores data in a square grid of black and white modules. A smartphone camera scans the pattern, decodes the data and acts on it — opening a URL, joining a Wi-Fi network, saving a contact or sending an email. Because the data is stored in both directions, a QR code can hold far more information than a traditional barcode.

Yes. Every QR code generated here is a static QR code, meaning the data is encoded directly into the pattern. It never expires, never stops working and does not depend on our website. You can print it, share it or store it forever without any ongoing cost.

Static QR codes store the final destination directly in the pattern — they are free forever and cannot be edited after creation. Dynamic QR codes redirect through a short URL, so the destination can be changed later and scans can be tracked, but they usually require a paid subscription and stop working if the provider shuts down. Our generator creates static QR codes only.

Error correction lets a QR code survive damage, smudges or a logo covering part of it. Level L repairs about 7% of the code, M about 15%, Q about 25% and H about 30%. Use M for general printing, Q for outdoor signs, and H whenever you place a logo in the centre. Higher correction levels make the QR code denser.

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG or SVG logo and it will be placed in the centre of the QR code. Always use error correction level H when adding a logo so the code remains scannable. Keep the logo small — under 25% of the QR code area — and test the result with several phone cameras before printing.

The most common causes are too little contrast between foreground and background, a missing quiet zone (white margin around the code), a logo that is too large, or a size that is too small for the distance it will be scanned from. Use a dark foreground on a light background, keep the quiet zone at 4 modules or more, increase the physical print size and raise the error correction level.

Yes, it is 100% free with no signup, no watermark, no scan limit and no hidden costs. All QR codes are generated in your browser — your data, Wi-Fi passwords and contact details are never sent to our servers. You can even disconnect from the internet and the generator will keep working.
