The Free Reading List & Book Tracker
A reading list is a personal record of the books you want to read, the ones you are currently reading, and the ones you have finished. It works as a memory extension for your reading life — capturing the recommendation a friend gave you, the title you spotted in a review, and the progress you have made through the book on your nightstand.
Our free book tracker takes the classic reading list and adds the small features that make it genuinely useful. Every book has a status (Want to Read, Reading or Finished), a current page so you can track how far through you are, a five-star rating for when you finish, and a notes field that can hold anything from a favourite quote to a reminder of who recommended it.
The stats bar at the top updates live as you add and update books. It shows how many books are in your library, how many are in progress, how many you have finished, the total number of pages you have read across every in-progress and finished book, and your average rating across every book you have rated. That last number is often the most satisfying — a quiet score for your reading taste.
Everything is stored locally in your browser. There is no account, no email, no server. You can export your entire library as a JSON file at any time, keep it as a backup, or re-import it on another device. Your reading list is yours — portable, private, and yours forever.
Frequently Asked Questions.
A reading list is a personal record of the books you want to read, are currently reading, and have already finished. It acts as a bookmark for your reading life — helping you remember what you meant to pick up next, track your progress through each book, and look back at what you have read. A good reading list is simple to update and lives somewhere you will actually use it, which is why a browser-based tracker works so well.
Click Add Book, then enter the title, author, total pages, status and any notes you want to remember. You can also add a cover image URL. Once books are added, click any book to update its progress, change its status, rate it out of five stars, or edit its details.
